We are looking to recruit a number of ‘neighbourhood energy assistants’ who will be paid to work with the BeGreen project over the next six months, working with their neighbours to raise awareness of home energy efficiency, give basic home energy advice, loan out ‘smart electricity monitors’, refer people to BeGreen for more detailed advice and assistance etc.
Exactly how each energy assistant works will be up to them and what they feel will work best and be most appropriate for their neighbourhood. We expect that they might give talks to community groups, organise energy awareness get-togethers, carry out basic ‘home energy checks’ and use their local knowledge to seek out those most in need of advice and grant support. The BeGreen project will provide full training and on-going support.
We are hoping to recruit assitants in all areas of the Dunbar and East Linton ward. Please get in touch as soon as possible if you are interested in taking up this opportunity. Contact BeGreen on 01368 863720 or email: philip (philipATsustainingdunbar.org)
