Community meal to help hedgehogs

The new Dunbar Plant-based Community Kitchen is holding their first evening meal and the great news is that Sustaining Dunbar’s Pledeghog Project has been chosen as the nominated charity for the proceeds to go to from this event.

‘Nooch Spott’ is a brand new venture where you can enjoy a three course plant-based meal in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in Spott Village Hall on the last Friday of each month. All the food served will be plant-based as the emphasis is very much on sustainability by keeping our carbon footprints as low as possible.

David Sommerville who set up this community initiative tells us ‘These evenings aim to be a relaxing way for people to meet up and also to raise money for good causes at the same time. Everyone is welcome, wherever you live or whether or not you are vegan, and it’s a great way to try out new dishes or foods’.

He continues, ‘You pay what you want for your meal as a donation at the end of the evening. Each event has a volunteer cook who picks their good cause and other volunteers assist with other aspects of the evening in an informal way. I’m pleased to say that local hedgehogs will benefit in August with the proceeds from the first event going to the Pledgehog Project’.

If you would like to join us on Friday 29th August 2025 at Spott Village Hall from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm you would be very welcome. Please contact David to book by thedaveydavester@gmail.com or text on 07492743155 or to get more information. You can also follow Dunbar Plant-based Community Kitchen on Facebook.
