Wild about West Barns – an intergenerational community group celebrating all things WILD and WONDERFUL about West Barns.
West Barns is a village on the southeast coast of Scotland with a fascinating history, surrounded by an inspirational landscape – a large sandy beach, dunes and salt-marsh, a freshwater pond and tidal burn, scattered woodland, gardens, public green spaces and arable fields. Just over 500 people live in the village, sharing the landscape with many amazing wild plants and animals.
‘Wild about West Barns’ came together in 2025 as a collection of local folk and neighbours keen to celebrate and look after West Barns’ unique history and landscape, and share it with as many people as possible.
Our first community event is on Sunday 1st June 2025 from 2-4pm at the West Barns Bowling Club. All are welcome to join us for a nature trail around Seafield Pond, nature-based arts and activities, wildlife photography, local history and more.
